The village of Sant Joan is one of the smaller towns of the island of Ibiza; it is situated in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja and is the capital of the municipality. It has about 169 inhabitants in the town center and about 726 in the surrounding area.
In the village is the church of San Juan, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, who is the patron saint of Sant Joan. The church dates from 1770 and the bell tower was replaced in the nineteenth century.
The village festival is on June 24, in which various cultural events take place, the most characteristic being the fires. Small fires are created and people jump over them.
In the town you will find bars for breakfast and lunch, there are also small local shops. The town of Sant Joan has a supermarket, banks and a pharmacy. It is small but endowed with sufficient services for the villagers’ needs.
Near the town of Sant Joan are some of the best beaches and coves of Ibiza, among them is the beach of Cala San Vicente, the beaches in Portinatx, Xarraca cove, Cala d'es Xuclar or s'Illot d’es Rencli among others. You can enjoy crystal clear waters and unique surroundings
